Bob And The Monster  

Q&A with Bob Forrest and Dr. Drew to Follow

Wednesday, Dec. 5th at 6 PM


Pasadena, CA- Pasadena Recovery Center is holding a special screening of the award-winning documentary  Bob And The Monster  on Wednesday, Dec. 5th at 6 pm.  The film features Celebrity Rehab’s Bob Forrest and follows Bob, an outspoken indie-rock hero, through his life-threatening struggle with addiction, to his transformation into one of the most influential and controversial drug counselors. This uplifting documentary reveals the horrors of addiction along with the prospects of hope when one finds their path to recovery. The filmmaker Keirda Bahruth, will also join Bob Forrest and Dr. Drew for a Q&A following the screening.

Bob and the Monster includes contemporary footage, animation and compelling interviews and performances from Bob’s past that reveal his complicated and troubled but hopeful soul. Testimony from his peers include John Frusciante, Flea, Anthony Kiedis, Steven Adler and Courtney Love. The film has been featured at many film festivals and is winner of Best Documentary at CIMMFest and winner of Audience Best Documentary and Best Trailer at Gold Coast International Film Festival.

About Bob Forrest: Bob Forrest was the lead vocalist and lyricist for Los Angeles bands Thelonious Monster and The Bicycle Thief. Along with being a drug counselor at Pasadena Recovery Center he has appeared alongside Dr. Drew Pinsky on Rehab with Dr. Drew, Celebrity Rehab and Sober House. In 2010, he also Bob began hosting a weekly radio show, All Up In The Interweb, airing Wednesday nights on Indie1031.com.

About Pasadena Recovery Center: The Pasadena Recovery Center is a 98 bed drug and alcohol treatment center which was co-founded in 2000 by renowned psychiatrist Dr. Lee Bloom and his children, Alison Triessl and Michael Bloom. Pasadena Recovery Center's residential and outpatient treatment program is twelve-step based and integrates treatment of chronic substance abuse with spiritual, mental, and physical recovery necessary to be a productive member of society. Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation Fight Opioid Addiction Through Education, Progressive Treatment

SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) - Opioid addiction is a problem that many Americans don’t have an answer for. This month, federal authorities claimed one of the largest fentanyl seizures in U.S. history-- 97 pounds representing millions of lethal doses --from a house in San Diego. The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed three adults found dead in a Vista home a few weeks prior to the bust were killed by fentanyl overdoses. Dr. Brian Couey, Clinical Director for the  Hazelden  Betty Ford Foundation, joined News 8’s Heather Myers  Wednesday  to talk about the opioid epidemic and how the foundation is working tirelessly to fight it.
